This past weekend we had the pleasure to attend Extreme Barcelona 2021, and we enjoyed it to the fullest! 🔥  

Something is for sure, we had no time to get bored! 🤟 With many activities, from sporty to cultural, Extreme Barcelona 2021 had something for everyone: mini ramps, skate park, the Hot Wheels space for the little ones, a basketball court and many food trucks to enjoy! 🙌 

American Socks, as you might know, joined forces with RockZone to make things even better!💥  We played the best music and we had the best time with our #Sockers in our stand by the Urban Art Zone. 💯 

All in all, it was a very deserved comeback with a very committed audience that enjoys sport, music and the urban culture. 🤩  The Parc del Fòrum was transformed into a free space full of possibilities and with many options to try all types of outdoor activities.

This past weekend we had the pleasure to attend Madrid Urban Sports 2021! It has been a weekend full of urban activities in the Madrid Río🔥  

We enjoyed a program filled with musical artists from the local scene, sports and grafiti art. More than 600 athletes from up to 25 countries participated in the competitions! 💥 

During the days of the event, different artists came by the Central Park and the Street Plaza of the Madrid Urban Sports 💯  We all danced and had the best time to the rhythm of different music styles: from the hardest hip-hop to Rock Punk! 🎶 🤘🏼

It was a whole new concept: the Madrid Río park was turned into a space with different possibilities to shop and try many outdoor activities! 🧦 🛍️ 

We loved getting to know some #sockers in our stand, while enjoying a weekend full of urban style and inspiration. We had the best time and we can't wait to be back next year!💙

This past weekend, we had the pleasure to attend Skate Love Barcelona 2021 🎶 🕺🏽 

For those who still don’t know what this special event is, Skate Love Barcelona is an international music festival on wheels  dedicated to a community that shares a passion for music, dance and skating. This 2021, besides coming back better than ever, the festival celebrated its 5th anniversary! 

So, American Socks had to be there! That’s why we built our stand, and we enjoyed a day filled with dancing, skating, cool people and a lot of socks!

DJs from around the world made sure to keep the music going and the people dancing, even under the rain! Even though the weather wasn’t on our side, the skates kept rolling, and the music kept playing! 🎼

We enjoyed it to the fullest getting to know new #sockers and enjoying a unique community that sure knows how to have fun! We hope to see everyone again next year to dance, skate and enjoy together again! 😃

FINALLY BACK TO FESTIVAL LIFE! 🎶 

After 2 long years, we attended the Slam Dunk Festival 2021! 48 hours of nonstop live music with incredible people 😎  🙌 

One thing that we've always been passionate about are festivals, so the wait has been hard for us but it was totally worth it 🌟 🖤

An incredible two days getting to know our most festival-goer #sockers! 🧦  With 6 live music stages, some of our favorite bands and our incredible American Socks stand, we enjoyed our time to the fullest!🤘 

We got to rock to bands like McFly, Don Broco, As it is and so many more while making our #sockers happy with their new favorite socks 😉 ✌🏼

We can't wait for the next year and for so many more festivals! 🔥  We'll be back to normal life soon, and we want to make sure to live it with you! 💥

Even though it’s one year late, Tokyo is finally hosting the 2020 Olympics and will feature new sports, including skateboarding 🛹  and BMX freestyle 🚴‍♀️ .  As you might know, we have always been big fans of these sports, so we are incredibly excited that they are taken into consideration in this year’s Olympics.🔥 

In skateboarding, the past few days have been very exciting. Our friend, Andrea Benítez, debuted becoming the first woman to ever skateboard in the Olympic Games!! She made history! 🖤  

When it comes to the podium results, you might feel a little old…. the gold medalist, Momiji Nishiya, and silver medalist, Rayssa Leal, are both only 13 years old. The bronze medalist, Funa Nakayama, is the older one… but she’s only 16! 🤭 💥

Ninshiya’s victory isn’t the first gold for Japan 🇯🇵 , as Yuto Horigomi won on the men’s side a day earlier. A similar thing happened for Brazil 🇧🇷 , with Leal’s silver and Kelvin Hoefler’s in the men’s category.  But there are still days left! A lot of things can happen and we can’t wait to see it!

BMX freestyle has also made its Olympic debut at the Tokyo 2020 games, finally! 🙌

There are nine female and nine male riders looking to make history as the first BMX Olympic medalists.🏅 Riders will compete in the park discipline executing tricks on obstacles such as walls, box jumps and spines. So exciting to watch this incredible sport bring a fresh feel to the Olympic programe! 💥

Today marks a very special day for the American Socks family, it’s finally June 21st: International Skateboarding Day! 🎉

Beginning in the early 1950’s, skateboarding has been changing and advancing into what it is today. Did you know that it was invented by surfers in California? When waves were flat they modified their surfboards and upgraded them with wheels. 🌊  🌊  At first it was called “sidewalk surfing”, and later it became skateboarding.

As you might know, our socks take inspiration from those ground breaking skaters from the early 70’s. Not only that, American Socks also brings back the lifestyle of urban attitude through your feet.
